INTRODUCTORY CLINICAL EXPERIENCE 1
ACTIVITY: The clinical student will summarize the essential
elements of inquiry, and describe how inquiry teaching differs from conventional"teaching
by telling."
GOAL: To provide the clinical student with a conceptual understanding
of inquiry-oriented instruction as opposed to the more traditional expository
(teaching by telling) form of instruction.
PROCEDURE:
- Begin by viewing the following videos 1. What is Inquiry Learning. 2. Teaching Inquiry in the Classroom.
- Write a brief essay that explains your view of the nature and goal of
inquiry-oriented instruction. Cite evidence from the videos for any claims
that you make.
CRITERIA:
- Your paper should be 1-2 pages in length, double spaced.
- 1-inch borders all around.
- Your paper should be free of grammatical and spelling errors.
