Wikispaces Project

Objectives:

Steps:

  1. Begin this project by accessing the Wikispaces web site at http://www.wikispaces.com/
  2. Go to the "Get Started" box. To create a new account, please enter a username, password, and email address. Enter a wiki name to create a wiki along with your account.
  3. On your new wiki, click on the "Help" link above to learn more about how to use your wiki. After you have read and understood the content, close the help page and return to home. Note the six (6) video tours available at the bottom of the page. This might be the best place to start your orientation.
  4. In the "Home" page, click on the "Page", "Discussion", "History" and "Notify Me" tags to see what they contain.
  5. Post your DRAFT Authentic Inquiry Lab to your wiki that others can read, review, and comment.
  6. Invite your instructor and all other PHY 302 classmates to join in the discussion. See an email from you PHY 302 course instructor for email addresses of all other students. Please include Dr. Jang in your invitation list.
  7. Please note that ALL students in this PHY 302 course must review and comment on the draft inquiry lab. The course instructor will review all comments to see that this has been accomplished.
  8. Based on the comments, revise and repost the DRAFT Authentic Inquiry Lab to your wiki. Please include version numbers and dates. Each wiki should have two documents at the end; the initial draft and the revised DRAFT. (A hard copy of the finalized Authentic Inquiry Lab should be turned in to the PHY 302 instructor for separate assessment.)

Assessment:

No rubric will be used in the assessment of this project. The following scores will apply however:

25% meaningful and relatively complete initial draft posted (clear evidence that attention has been paid to the Authentic Inquiry Lab scoring rubric.)

50% all of the above plus classmates have been invited to review and comment on the draft.

75% all of the above plus a revised meaningful and relatively complete revised draft has been posted to the wiki page (2 date versions now posted).

100% all of the above plus revised FINAL copy of the Authentic Inquiry Lab has been posted to the wiki (all 3 dated versions posted). The instructor reserves the right to reduce the top score of any student who has not participated in at least one review process for each wiki. All students must complete their work in a timely fashion.
