Classroom Environments and Climate Setting

Student Performance Objectives:

• The teacher candidate will explain what is meant by the four forms of effective classroom atmospheres: student-centered, knowledge-centered, assessment-centered, and community-centered classrooms.
• The teacher candidate will provide examples for each of the four forms of effective classroom atmospheres
• The teacher candidate will explain the importance of classroom climate setting.
• The teacher candidate will provide and explain at four techniques of classroom climate setting.
• The teacher candidate will explain the important of setting clear performance goals and achieving proper closure in an inquiry lesson.
• The teacher candidate will define risk aversion and provide several techniques for overcoming it in resistive students.
