CPU (Constructing Physics Understanding)
Simulation Software is a set of Java applets designed to
complement and extend hands-on laboratory activities in physical
science in a wide variety of contexts. The simulators provide
students with both phenomenological and conceptual (model-based)
evidence to help them develop robust and valid ideas in physical
science.
1. Obtain the CPU CD-ROM from your course instructor.
2. Following the instructions provided in the file "Welcome to CPU.htm", familiarize yourself with CPU Simulation Software by running through a representative simulation from each of the four subject areas of physics represented.
3. Install the required software and run through a number of simulations to familiarize yourself with the use of this program.
Under the conditions of a demonstration interview, show your course instructor that you known about and know how to use CPU simulation software.
