C3: EXAMaster+

A. INTRODUCTION

Today with the assistance of computers, teachers need not spend untolled hours creating exams, and then carefully working out answer keys. Many physics textbooks now come with computerized test bank software and files that allow teachers to develop chapter-based exams in minutes. EXAMaster+ is one such software package designed to work with Serway's Physics for Scientists and Engineers. Granted, this textbook is a calculus-based textbook. Nonetheless, one can learn all about such computerized test banks suitable for high school teaching by working with EXAMaster+. In this project you will use EXAMaster+ to create and print out a physics exam along with an answer key.

B. PROCEDURE

1. Following the guidelines provided with the EXAMaster+ software, install the program on a computer's hard drive. (You need only install the application; the remaining files referred to will be transferred to your EXAMaster+ folder when the application is launched.) You need not load any data files; you may use locked diskettes for your question bank files.

2. Using a copy of Serway provided you by the course instructor, choose four contiguous chapters for which you will develop a realistic 20-question examination. Select approximately five questions from each chapter. You should attempt to include a variety of question types (multiple choice problems, conceptual problems, etc.).

3. Create and print out your 20-question examination along with the answer key.

C. EVALUATION
