He married twice. He married Frances Borger 1851. She was the daughter of Joe Borger and Elizabeth ZZZ. Frances died 03/08/1882. He married Josephine Nieberding 04/29/1884. She is the daughter of Herman Nieberding and Catherine XNieberding. She married Frank Leistenschneider 08/28/1901.

John Uhlenhake and Josephine Nieberding had the following children:

• 10 ii. Mary Antonstta Uhlenhake. She married Frank Lange.
