Trebuchet Competition Update

Watch this page for important updates about the April 26th Trebuchet Competition at Illinois State University in Normal. Check this page before departing for the competition if there is any question about possible postponement due to inclement weather conditions. The decision to hold or postpone the April 26th competition will be made tentatively by noon on April 26th, and for certain by 3:00 p.m. on that same date. It the event is postponed, it will be delayed for one week.

DIRECTIONS TO THE COMPETITION SITE

The trebuchet competition will be held on Gregory Street, on the west edge of the Illinois State University Golf Course. Gregory Street runs east-west along the north side of University High School, and intersects US 51.

From northbound US Route 51: Proceed north through Normal, past ISU, past the big water tower, to the north end of University High School (on your left). Look for the street sign BOWLES Avenue. (Bowles goes east, GREGORY goes west from this intersection.) Turn left (west) and continue along GREGORY for a distance of 0.8 miles. Look for the A-frame sign on the right (north) side of the road. If you reach the University Farm, you've gone too far.

From southbound US Route 51: Proceed south through Normal, past the water park, to the north end of University High School (on your right). Turn right (west) on GREGORY and continue along GREGORY for a distance of 0.8 miles. Look for the A-frame sign on the right (north) side of the road. If you reach the University Farm, you've gone too far.
