Teacher Ethics & Student Cheating
Student Performance Objectives:
- The teacher candidate will distinguish between ethics, morals, and laws;
- The teacher candidate will identify at least two sources of professional teaching ethics;
- The teacher candidate will name the general areas to which professional teaching ethics apply;
- The teacher candidate will identify and explain the three main elements of a code of professional conduct:
- concern for the student,
- concern for the public, and
- concern for teaching as a profession.
- The teacher candidate will explain the meaning of and rationale for the various NEA teaching ethics;
- The teacher candidate will explain the ethics science students should follow in
class, lab, and homework;
- The teacher candidate will characterize the ethics of American youth;
- The teacher candidate will explain a number of ways to minimize cheating behavior.
