He married Anna Marie (Maria) Schmit in St. Henry, Mercer Co., Ohio, 1855. Anna was born in Neuenkirchen, Heulsen, Germany 09/14/1829. Anna died 04/14/1900 in Philothea, Mercer Co., Ohio, at 70 years of age.

Johann (Joseph) Bruns and Anna Marie (Maria) Schmit had the following children:

• 17 i. Marie (Maria) Agnes⁴ Bruns was born in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH 02/15/1856 (57?). Marie died 06/01/1895 (97?). Her body was interred in St. Henry Cemetery, Mercer Co., OH. She married Jean (John) (Feltz) Fels-de (von?) -Auterstal in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH, 11/11/1879. Jean was born in Alsace Lorraine, Germany 01/07/1856 (57?). He was the son of Jean J. Michel (Feltz) Fels and Elizabeth Weis(s)haupt. He married Gertrude Hemmelgarn 9/29/1897. Jean died 01/07 (10?) /1900. His body was interred in St. Henry Cemetary, Mercer Co., OH. • 18 ii. Lawrence Bruns.

• 19 iii. Johann Henry Bruns was born in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH 10/19/1857. Johann died 01/24/1943 in Butler Twp, Mercer Co., OH, at 85 years of age. Her|his body was interred in Imm. Concep. Cath. Ch., Henry, Mercer Co., OH. She|he married Agnes Kramer in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH, 03/06/1882. Agnes was born in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH 03/02/1862. She was the daughter of Detrick Kramer and Anna Wegeman. Agnes died 04/06/1942 in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH, at 80 years of age.

• 21 v. Anna Maria Margaretha Bruns was born in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH 09/21/1862. Anna died 04/02/1932 in Granville Twp, Mercer Co., OH, at 69 years of age. Her body was interred 05/05/1932 in St. Henry, Mercer Co., OH. She married twice. She married John Kramer. He is the son of Detrick Kramer. (See John Kramer for the continuation of this line.) • 22 vi. John Anthony Bruns was born in Philothea, Mercer Co., OH 05/03/1865. John died in Dayton, Montgomery, OH. She|he married Elizabeth Muhlenkamp.

• 23 vii. Johann Bruns was born 02/07/1868. Johann died 02/12/1869 at 1 years of age.
