Post-Mission Activities

Your post-mission activities consist of conducting a press conference. This press conference can be conducted with in your classroom with your classmates only, or in a different setting where you might invite parents and others who helped to make your Rendezvous with a Comet mission possible. Your press conference can be led either by your teacher of, if they were members of your mission, your press team.

Press conferences following typical NASA missions will include a panel of individuals. In the case of your Rendezvous with a Comet mission, your panel might consist of eight individuals, one representing each of the eight teams that took part in the mission. Alternatively, your press conference could consist of a series of smaller, shorter panel discussions in which all members of a given team will make a presentation. This would be repeated until all teams were able to present.

Each team represented on a panel should be prepared to have one or more panelists give an overview, followed by a complete review of activities and findings. The presentation should be clear, brief, and well organized. The presentation should include as appropriate visual aids including technology. Time for questions and answers should be included.

Your teacher will provide you some in-class time to prepare for this press conference. However you decide to conduct your press conference, each panel should be aware that each team presentation will be assessed.
