Your Task
Design a Space Alien
Your Task
Your task is to design and report on a space alien best adapted to the “living conditions” on one of the planets or moons of the solar system with atmosphere – but not Earth. Your team will prepare a single written report. It must include the following information:
- A summary in your own words of the problem.
- A description of your planet or moon, and the conditions under which your alien lives.
- A drawing of your space alien, with particular attention given to senses and abilities (hearing, seeing, feeling, moving, etc.)
- A description of your alien’s adaptations, describing how these changes have helped them live on this place in the solar system with its special conditions.
- A list of references that you used to prepare your report.

Each team also must make an oral report to the whole class after the written report is completed, showing their design for a space alien. The oral report must include information about the planet or moon, as well as explain the adaptations of the space alien to its environment.
Special rubrics will be used to score the written and oral reports. Your work as a team member will also be scored. Look at the assessments before beginning work so you know what will be expected of you.
